Holland’s 40-year Community Energy Plan helped make us the “Greenest City in the State of Michigan” But we cannot rest on our laurels.

As Mayor, I appointed a broad based and dynamic team of smart, dedicated community leaders to review and update our 10 year old Community Energy Plan.

I asked them to provide meaningful, measurable, achievable, and affordable recommendations for the future. And they delivered.

Your City Council unanimously approved their recommendations. We are now implementing the plan that will allow us to reach our carbon footprint goal ten years sooner than before.

But we aren’t resting on our laurels. I have recently appointed a new new team to re-evaluate our plan, see what more we can do and set new goals to assure we are uniquely positioned to thrive in the days to come!
